The JETTER DELTA was used to complete our fifth project with the John A. Wood group. The control panel was built in-house by Irish Industrial Components. Incorporating a total of 336 digital I/O, 19 analogue inputs, printer and MMI, the DELTA was programmed to control and monitor the operation of four mills, associated mill feed conveyors and storage silo units. Previously, each plant component had to be started and stopped manually via pushbuttons.
Now each complete section of plant is controlled from a single pair of start/stop pushbuttons. Alternatively, by using the Real Time Clock facility of the DELTA, the plant can be set up for automatic operation. This allows the plant to be be run overnight when necessary. Quarter-hourly printouts record average mill current consumption. This allows the mill to be set up for maximum efficiency. Any and all plant fault conditions are also printed out and time stamped.
